When the leaves lose their colors you will know
When the sunset has lost its lively glow
When your lover becomes not even a friend
You're not alone, this is not an end

When the canyon offers nothing but howling winds
When the dessert only sings you sorrowed hymns
When the night kisses you better than the sun
Time makes you old, living makes you young

When the long coastal drive won't calm your head
When the bustle of the city keeps you awake in bed
When you can almost reach it, then its gone
The right thing at the wrong time is still wrong

Where the mountains peak blocks out the light
Where the river flows on out of sight
Where the wheat grows tall it is forced to bend
Accept the unknown, it's your closest friend
