Photograms (2011-2013)

This body of work is an exploration of incorporeality, a state of no material existence.

The photograms in this series are time-lapse recordings of common household materials. (hard-surface cleaners, polyethylene wrap, carbonated beverages). The translucent materials interact on glass plates, interposed with light sensitive paper. As the photographic paper is exposed to light, it records a visual documentation of a past experience. Much like an impression fossil, what’s left behind is the absence of physical presence. The object can be interpreted, but never restored.
